Risk Analysis Reports and Management Planning for Natural Hazards

VIE Consultants' personnel have been responsible for natural hazard analyses for hundreds of facilities through the United States over the past 29 years. This experience is augmented by the fact that first hand disaster investigations have been conducted by VIE personnel for eight major natural disasters since 1987. VIE believes this type of first hand on the ground experience is absolutely critical and distinguishes our company as one which understands the difference between what has worked and what has not worked in real events. This knowledge is essential in performing realistic risk assessments.

VIE's personnel have been recognized in several prestigious awards, including:

• Outstanding Seismic Project for 2005 (Mitigation Category) in the United States, at the US Earthquake Engineering Conference, for the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy- Seismic Analysis and Design Criteria Development
• Outstanding Seismic Project (Planning) 2004 in the Western United States by the Western Council of Earthquake Engineering, for Development of Seismic Risk Assessment and Retrofit Standards for the Salt Lake City School District

VIE personnel have direct experience in assisting facility owners in  achieving required life safety performance objectives through the use of innovative retrofit methods, often consisting of "first use" technologies. Examples include the first use of carbon fiber column encasement in Utah, and the first use of vertical wall coring in an historical retrofit in Utah.
